KWK INKOCROSS Coupling

In this version, two steel pins act as circular planular keys, locked into shallow grooves, cut at 90° to each other, on either side of the central steel Disc. Each pin also slots radially into a deep circular-section, low friction, bushed groove, across the inner face of the two steel End-Hubs, enabling large radial and angular movements.

As the bushed groove, circular-section, in both End-hubs exceeds 180 degs., all 3 coupling Discs are axially retained, within a tight tolerance; thereby making the design ideal for precise transmission of axial push-pull actions, as well as a torsionally stiff rotary drive connector.

With its free-pivoting around – and easy-slide radial movement along-the 90° ‘crossed’ pins, between the two End-hubs and with minimal side/support-bearing loading, or misalignment restoration forces, other than from the central disc centrifugal mass, it also offers true constant velocity, good fail-safe, high torque transmission, whilst mounting & removal are simply achieved.

Typical applications include:
Valve actuation, Pick-and-place & Printed Circuit Board machines, screw Jacks & Cylinder/Piston action connections.
Shaft connections are via: (Std.) Flanged, or Bossed End Discs

 

The Range accommodates:
  • Normal Torques (TStat): Up to 13,000Nm, for
  • Shaft Diameters: Up to 160mm and
  • Maximum Offsets: Up to +/-15mm & Angular Misalignment: Up to +/-3° (at low speeds)

[N.B. As the centre Disc will oscillate within the offset radius, its mass effect must be considered at higher speeds (especially, above 500 RPM).]
